The Best Olive Oil in the Area
The Tamborino Frisari family history dates back 300 years and is closely tied to the tilling of the Salento land.
The Corte de’Droso olive grove is just outside Maglie and is probobly one of the most beautiful I’ve found in Salento with fabulous ancient Olive Trees, some of which are hundreds of years old.
The Corte de’Droso olive oils come from olive trees located in 2 areas. One is from Cortidroso (where we visit) and the other Api.
At Cortidroso the majority of the olive trees are more than 100 years old and are of the celline and ogliarola varieties.
The Api olive grove on the other hand is far more modern with olive trees from the leccino, frantoio, picholine, nociara and other minor varieties.
